As we head into the busy summer travel season, we wanted to share a few important updates from Monera Financial.

Monera Financial will be closed in observance of the following upcoming holidays:

• Monday, May 25, 2026 — Memorial Day
• Friday, July 3, 2026 — Independence Day (Observed)

DVC Market Snapshot

One of the things I find interesting about the resale market is how resilient it continues to be. Overall, we saw a very stable market this quarter, with average resale prices holding fairly steady across most resorts despite continued demand from buyers.

Some of the most sought after resorts, including Grand Floridian and Grand Californian, continued to perform especially well this spring. Inventory also remains lower than what we historically saw a few years ago, which has helped keep pricing relatively strong across many resorts.

We continue to see Disney exercising Right of First Refusal (ROFR) on select contracts. In particular, Disney showed buyback activity at Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs. Whenever we see Disney stepping in on certain resorts, it’s an interesting reminder of the continued value and demand surrounding DVC ownership.

For buyers, the resale market still continues to offer opportunities to save compared to purchasing directly through Disney. It’ll definitely be exciting to see how the market continues to evolve as we move into the busy summer travel season.

Financing Made Simple

Downpayment Vs. Deposit

One of the most common questions we hear from buyers financing a DVC contract is about the difference between a deposit and a down payment. While the terms are often used interchangeably, they actually serve two very different purposes during the purchase process.

Your deposit, sometimes called an escrow deposit, is the good faith payment submitted after your offer is accepted. This shows the seller you are committed to moving forward with the purchase, and the funds are held securely by the title company until closing. The good news is that your deposit is credited back toward the amount you owe at closing, so it is not an extra fee.

Your down payment, on the other hand, is the portion of the purchase price that your lender does not finance. For example, if you are purchasing a $20,000 contract with 5% down, your lender would finance $19,000 (95%) and you would be responsible for the remaining $1,000 (5%), plus any applicable closing costs not rolled into financing.

Understanding the difference between these two payments can help make the financing process feel much smoother and less overwhelming. As always, our team is happy to help walk buyers through every step of the process and answer any questions along the way.

2026 Cool KIDS’ SUMMER

Get ready for the ultimate Disney summer adventure because Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is back for 2026. From May 26 through September 8, Walt Disney World will be packed with nonstop fun including dance parties, character experiences, and water park adventures across all four theme parks and Disney Resorts. And let’s be honest, with Florida summer heat doing its best to humble everyone, you may feel like you’re melting faster than a Mickey ice cream bar, so good thing there are air-conditioned shows and water parks to rescue you from the heat with your littles.

One of the biggest perks returning this summer is that both Disney water parks will be open for the season. Disney Resort guests will also receive free water park admission on check-in day, making it an easy way to kick off a vacation by heading straight into the water before even unpacking. Returning favorites from 2025 will also include dance parties like GoofyCore at EPCOT, where you can try to dance like Powerline… but once Goofy joins in, your carefully planned moves don’t stand a chance.

New 2026 Cool KIDS’ SUMMER experiences

• Bluey and Bingo (Animal Kingdom) – Guests can travel via the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and Conservation Station to meet Bluey and Bingo in a limited-time experience. This interactive visit includes themed games inspired by the series, photo opportunities with the characters, and hands-on animal learning activities connected to Australia’s wildlife. A virtual queue will be in place for access.

• Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue (Magic Kingdom) – Located at the Diamond Horseshoe, this limited-time experience invites guests to join Jessie, Woody, and friends for a high-energy country-style celebration featuring music, dancing, interactive activities, and family-friendly fun inspired by the Toy Story universe.

• Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! (Hollywood Studios) – A brand-new live stage show featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. Designed for younger guests and families, this interactive production brings Disney Jr. stories to life with music, movement, and audience participation.

New ride and reimagined attractions opening for the summer

• Soarin’ Across America (EPCOT) – Debuting Memorial Day weekend in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary, this updated version of Soarin’ features a flight simulation journey showcasing iconic landscapes, natural landmarks, and major cityscapes across the country, presented with the signature aerial perspective of the attraction.

• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets (Hollywood Studios) – The Muppets take over this high-speed indoor roller coaster experience featuring The Electric Mayhem. Guests join a chaotic backstage rock concert tour filled with comedic moments, musical performances, and Muppet-style storytelling throughout the attraction queue and ride experience.

• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopening (Magic Kingdom) – The classic Frontierland attraction returns with its signature storyline of a runaway mine train speeding through an abandoned gold-mining town. Guests experience sharp turns, sudden drops, and explosive effects across the “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness.”

• Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run update featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu (Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge) – This updated mission introduces new storyline elements where guests join Din Djarin and Grogu on a fresh smuggling assignment aboard the Millennium Falcon. Riders take on pilot, gunner, or engineer roles in an interactive flight simulator experience with branching outcomes based on crew performance.

With returning favorites from 2025 and so many new experiences arriving this summer, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER 2026 is shaping up to be an unforgettable season for Disney fans of all ages. Whether you’re planning your first Disney vacation or returning for another magical summer, there will be plenty of new memories waiting to be made.

Team Member Spotlight: Mary Stogsdill

Mary was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She grew up visiting Walt Disney World regularly. Graduating from Samford University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, she has had a variety of jobs working with kids in hospital, church, or school settings. In August 2025, Mary joined Monera Financial as a Loan Originator, where she loves helping people make their DVC dreams come true.

Mary lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Clay, and their 2 teenagers, Allison and Jake. They are Disney Vacation Club Members and love all things Disney. She loves traveling with her family and scrapbooking their adventures. While Disney parks and Disney cruises are her favorite vacation destinations, she enjoys exploring new places, and the Disney parks in Asia are on her bucket list. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her family.
